The Conference Board of Pensions and our colleagues at Wespath continue to embrace better health and “wellness” for our ministers and laity. Because of the increasing cost of health care, and the increasing number of our participants with chronic illnesses, the Board of Pensions realizes that by emphasizing “wellness” and working to improve the health of our clergy, we will not only improve the ability of clergy to be in ministry but should in the long term have an effect on the rising costs of insurance.
HealthFlex participants and spouses can each earn incentive rewards in 2017 in much the same way as in 2016 by participating in wellness programs, including the new and improved Virgin Pulse 2.0 program, and/or having Blueprint for Wellness health measures that meet recommended guidelines or are improved over last year. HealthCash is now called PulseCash and is awarded in the same manner through your Virgin Pulse account. Participants and spouses can each earn up to $410 PulseCash in 2017.
EVERY PERSON ON HEALTHFLEX should AT LEAST earn the incentives for the FREE BluePrint For Wellness screening provided at Annual Conference (it can also be done at an approved clinic near you). Having blood work done by your doctor DOES NOT replace this annual screening. This blood screening is more intense than what is usually done in the doctor's office. You'll get a great explanation of the results that you can share with your doctor.
EVERY PERSON ON HEALTHFLEX should also KEEP THEIR DEDUCTIBLE FROM INCREASING by filling out the annual HealthFlex Quotient online health questionnaire (usually in August). Details are in the Wellness Incentives FAQ below.
2017 Wellness Incentives Summary
Incentives are implemented through the Virgin Pulse program. Participants need to enroll in Virgin Pulse and use it to record their activities and receive their rewards.
You can enroll in Virgin Pulse or access it easily by logging in to your HealthFlex/WedMD account, then click the Virgin Pulse link on the left side under "HealthFlex Vendor Links".
