HealthFlex is the insurance plan of the South Georgia Conference. It is mandatory for full-time clergy under age 65. We also offer coverage for clergy spouses and families (at the clergy person's expense).

REMEMBER: Clergy no longer report their health insurance election on their compensation form. Clergy are responsible for providing a copy of their health insurance elections to their payroll person, so that appropriate funds can be withheld, if needed.
PLEASE NOTE: Most of our pastors are paying for more health insurance than they need. The same funds could be going into an Health Reimbursement Account or Health Savings Account for the pastor. PLEASE use the "Alex" helper before deciding which coverage to purchase.

Covered clergy have a monthly $1,153 "premium contribution" with which to purchase insurance. They may choose to purchase additional coverage at their own expense.
CONTINUING THIS YEAR: The Conference Board of Pensions will continue to offer a rebate on HealthFlex to clergy families for 2024. Clergy with “single plus one” coverage will receive $158/month in premium rebates, while clergy with “family” coverage will receive $259/month in premium rebates in 2024. These amounts, combined with the subsidy to churches, will provide some small premium relief to clergy with this coverage.

Wespath has ended it's coordination with Web/MD. Benefits are accessed through your Benefits Access account, or through your Virgin Pulse account. Spouses access benefits through their Virgin Pulse account.

While HealthFlex coverage is still mandatory for active full-time employees, there have been changes to the Affordable Care Act that may now allow your family to be covered under the Marketplace and receive ACA subsidies. Please contact the Administrative Services office for more information.
