Spiritual renewal time is a time to recover and recenter in the Lord. It is deep time in rest, silence, solitude, prayer, and study with God. Spiritual renawal is not a vacation, though God certainly intends for us to find enjoyment in life and so it can include time of enjoyment and liveliness or playfulness.
We clergy need to be at our best so that we can rest first in being who God called us to be and then do our best for the churches we are called to serve. I encourage you to plan some time for spiritual renewal periodically throughout the year, even if it is just a 2 day/overnight time every couple of months. Laity, please encourage your pastor in this. Our burden is heavy and we all need time away to stay yoked to Christ by spending deep time abiding in God. This way God's rest and the filling of the Holy Spirit is always at hand.

The use of the unit is donated to your ministry by an anonymous donor. Your ministry MUST provide an IRS determination letter that states they are recognized as a 501(C)3 tax exempt Organization in order to be approved.

A Quiet Place, Inc. (AQP), a rest and renewal retreat center for couples or singles in full time Christian ministry, is an independent, non-denominational, nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation. Surrounded by over 100 acres of timber and rolling hills, the four-bedroom log home located near Lancaster, Kentucky, provides a peaceful setting for our guests to experience rest and renewal. The five-day sabbatical, beginning Sunday evening and continuing through Friday morning, is offered free of charge to our guests. AQP can provide up to four couples or singles each week a place of refuge and rejuvenation—a place where they can relax and be still as they draw close to God. After guests have completed the Application for Sabbatical and have signed the Statement of Faith, they will receive a guest information packet about their stay. The Retreat Center is located about two blocks from the beach and is a wonderful place to take your family. The food is good, the location is excellent and the accommodations are relaxing.
Rev Henry and his wife Lynn Brock are Executive Directors who have hearts for encouraging pastors, so they offer pastors and their families a once a year get away. From August to around the end of May a pastor and his immediate family can reserve a room for up to five days and four nights (Monday through Friday) for free. The one exception is during spring break when the Center is booked solid with youth groups.

Williamsburg Christian Retreat Center
The location was close to all the attractions in the historic section of Williamsburg, VA (20 minutes away). The grounds are beautiful with lots to do including a pool in season. On the 300 acre property, there were plenty of easy hiking trails through their private woods.
Offers pastors and their families two free nights in either their 22 site RV campgrounds (they also have a tent village next to the pool), in the cabins that sleeps seven (which are very nice and modern), or in the Oakwood Lodge (which includes a room for four or a room with a kitchenette that sleeps two). If you want to stay for more than two days they only charge 50% of the regular room rate per night. When meals are served in the beautiful dining room those meals are also 50% off.

Mountains of Faith is a non-profit, non-denominational Christian retreat consisting of 235 beautiful wooded acres in the Central Lakes Region of West Virginia. There are miles of walking, hiking, mountain biking trails and a 2 and 1/2 acre pond for guests to enjoy. Some of the best Whitewater rafting in the world is within an hour and a half drive. There are two lakes within an hour where you can swim, fish and rent a boat. If you enjoy the outdoors, West Virginia offers a wide variety of activities. Horseback riding, kayaking, rock climbing, caving and Whitewater rafting are among the many available options. We currently have 3, 2-bedroom cottages and a larger 7 bedroom 2 story guest house (Cedar House) where guests can relax and enjoy the serene beauty and relaxing atmosphere of Faith Mountain. Each location has a air-conditioning, fully equipped kitchens(stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, pots, pans, utensils), and a fire pit with a grate for those relaxing campfire meals (We even supply the fire wood!). The two bedroom cottages, sleeps 7, and are completely furnished with a gas fireplace, whirlpool bath and two queen-sized beds upstairs, a queen sofa-bed in the living room and a love seat/single bed in one of the upstairs bedrooms. All cottages have a beautiful, wooded setting with a private back porch with a great view, and a hammock for those lazy afternoons.
