The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) delegates some of its responsibility to central organizations to streamline the process for organizations to be recognized as tax-exempt organizations under the 501(c)(3) tax code. In order to help local churches with tax-exempt status, the General Council and Finance (GCFA) recently launched a new Group Ruling website. Although the functionality of the site remains, it now has more features and coordinates with GCFA’s Chronicles. You can now request to be on the IRS database (The Exempt Organizations Business Master File) and have the answers to the most common group ruling questions and tax related resources easily.
